The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge construction is scheduled on U.S. 1 and on Old Lincoln Highway at the U.S. 1 overpass in Middletown Township under a project to improve U.S. 1 in Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
- Saturday, September 30, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, southbound U.S. 1 will be reduced to one lane between Route 413 and the Neshaminy Exit for beam setting on the new southbound U.S. 1 overpass at the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Exit .
- Saturday, September 30, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes will take place on southbound Lincoln Highway for beam setting on the new southbound U.S.1 overpass.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
PennDOT is reconstructing and widening U.S. 1, improving the interchanges, and constructing new bridges from the Turnpike Interchange in Bensalem Township to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 in Middletown Township under the $113.5 million Section RC2 contract.
